Arts Birthday at Oxfam

So the 17th of January is Arts Birthday!
The Oxfam shop, Castle Street, Swansea are joining in with the celebrations, with a Fairtrade coffee morning in the shop [you can't go wrong with tea and cake now can you!]
The in store artist will also be hosting a knitting with videotape workshop...a keen knitter myself I will definitely be putting down the folio and grabbing a pair of knitting needles!
And all week from the 17th -24th Jan a selection of my biographical textile pieces will be show within the store, which i'm very excited about...being able to do my bit in promoting Oxfam and sharing how much of a great resource Oxfam is for fellow students and artists...its amazing the things you can find with a little rummaging! and as if it couldn't get any better, your money spent goes a long way in helping Oxfam's many causes.

Fashioning the Folio

Its come to that time of year when the portfolio needs to be compiled and sorted...Heres a screen print of my great auntie Queenie and her hubby which I've printed onto a vintage pattern magazine. The pages have been sewn together [love the loose threads hanging from the edges]...Being able to look back and document the past and combine with modern techniques is something i'm really passionate about...
